Job Summary

The Bending Machine Programmer/Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC bending machines used in the fabrication of sheet metal parts for electronic products, enclosures, cabinets, brackets, and assemblies. The role ensures production meets quality, safety, and delivery requirements while minimising material waste and machine downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Program CNC bending machines using engineering drawings and CAD/CAM software.
• Set up tooling, dies, and machine parameters for different production jobs.
• Operate CNC press brake/bending machines according to production schedules.
• Interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and work instructions.
• Perform first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks using measuring instruments.
• Monitor machine performance and make program or setup adjustments as required.
• Ensure products meet dimensional and cosmetic quality standards.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and programming issues.
• Carry out routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain production records, machine logs, and inspection reports.
• Follow ESD, 5S, safety, and ISO quality procedures.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams for smooth operations.
• Knowledge of CNC controllers (Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic, Yawei, or similar).
• Understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Familiarity with ERP/MES systems.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
