Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented professional to manage the overall operations, production, and performance of a China Clay (Kaolin) processing plant. The candidate will be responsible for production planning, process optimisation, quality control, manpower management, equipment maintenance, safety compliance, and cost-effective plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day operations of the China Clay processing plant, ensuring smooth and efficient production.Plan, monitor, and control production activities to achieve daily and monthly production targets. Oversee raw material handling, crushing, grinding, screening, washing, classification, drying, and processing operations, as applicable to the plant. Monitor product quality parameters such as whiteness, particle size, moisture content, and purity as per customer specifications. Optimise production processes to improve productivity, recovery, product quality, and operational efficiency.Supervise plant personnel, including production supervisors, operators, technicians, and contract labour. Coordinate with the maintenance team to minimize equipment breakdowns and production downtime. Manage inventory of raw materials, finished goods, consumables, and spare parts. Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards, environmental regulations, and applicable mining or factory requirements. Monitor production costs, power consumption, fuel usage, and other operational expenses. Prepare production reports, operational MIS, performance reports, and cost analysis. Coordinate with quality control, dispatch, procurement, sales, and management teams to ensure timely deliveries. Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant capacity, reduce wastage, and improve profitability.

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of China Clay / Kaolin processing and mineral beneficiation. Experience in plant operations, production planning, and process optimisation. Knowledge of crushing, grinding, screening, washing, drying, and classification equipment, as applicable. Understanding of quality testing, mineral specifications, and process control. Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of preventive maintenance and industrial safety practices. Ability to manage production targets, operating costs, and plant performance. Good reporting, coordination, and communication skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

5–15 years of experience in China Clay, Kaolin, mineral processing, ceramic raw materials, or a related minerals industry. Prior experience managing a mineral processing plant or a production/operations department. Hands-on experience in manpower planning, equipment utilisation, quality management, and cost control. Candidates with experience in commissioning, capacity expansion, or process improvement will be preferred.
