Machine maintenance(preventive/Periodic, Breakdown)and calibration.Machine capacity calculation.New machine procurement.Newer Technology of manufacturing.Jig Fixture, tools preservation and maintenance and calibration.Measuring Instruments(other than verniers) Stocking, repair, issue calibration and new procurement.Machine maintenance spares procurement and stocking.Reduction of costing by product simplification, better tooling, without reducing accuracy and desired finish.New Machining programs.material handling in machine shop.Man power planning in machine shop.Man power planning in maintenance.Building maintenance.Basic Amenities maintenance.The maintenance engineers have to maintain all the equipment and machinery that is in the manufacturing unit of the company.Engineer have to make regular checks for the maintenance of the machines and repair the part that need to be replaced.They have to quickly attend calls for repair work as delay in work results in revenue loss for the company.They have to keep maintenance reports and also make records for all the repair works thy conduct on the machinery.They have to be present in the factory and perform all the repair work on site.They can also develop the existing machinery to work efficiently.The engineers have to order all the latest tools that will help them carry out repair work.They have to carefully maintain inventory for the tools and place orders for new ones when they are required.They have to inform the management of the new machinery that might be required for the factory.Maintenance engineers are responsible for maintaining and repairing the heavy machinery, plant equipment, tools and systems used in manufacturing, engineering and other industrial production processes.Although your day-to-day activities and responsibilities will differ from industry to industry, your core activities will include: conducting periodic maintenance checks, planning equipment upgrades and machinery modifications, identifying faults, investigating equipment breakdowns and monitoring the performance of equipment after repairs have been carried out.also responsible for the procurement of new components for existing equipment, or replacing the entire set of machines after a prescribed period of usage is complete.Maintenance engineers work in multi-disciplinary teams, which include plant and production personnel, manufacturing engineers, design engineers and other technical professionals, to ensure uninterrupted, efficient and quality-driven production or plant operations. In smaller organisations, the role of the maintenance engineer may be combined with that of the manufacturing engineer.
