Description:
At least 2-3 years of experience in a pricing, commercial, or similar role within the logistics, freight forwarding, or transportation industry. Familiarity with freight forwarding processes and industry terminology. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and pricing software (e.g., Freight Rate Management Systems). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to make data-driven pricing decisions.responsible for managing and optimizing the pricing structure for all freight forwarding services. This role involves analyzing market trends, preparing quotes for customers, coordinating with internal departments (sales, operations, and procurement), and ensuring competitive pricing strategies.Pricing & Quotation:Develop, analyze, and submit competitive pricing quotations to clients for air, sea, road, and multimodal freight services. Ensure all quotes are accurate and in line with market trends and internal cost structures.Collaborate with the sales team to create tailored pricing solutions for clients.Provide spot quotes and review long-term contract rates.Market Analysis:Monitor and analyze market conditions and competitor pricing to maintain competitive advantage.Assist in the identification of trends and changes in the freight forwarding market, especially with respect to costs (fuel, port charges, etc.).Internal Coordination:Work closely with the operations and procurement teams to understand capacity, rates, and service conditions.Collaborate with finance and management to ensure pricing decisions align with company profitability goals.Contract Management:Support the management and updating of long-term customer contracts.Track and report on contract performance versus expected profit margins.Pricing Strategy Development:Assist in the formulation of pricing strategies based on company goals and market conditions.Contribute to the negotiation of rates with carriers and suppliers to ensure favorable terms.Reporting & Analysis:Prepare regular reports on pricing performance, margin analysis, and rate updates.Provide insights into cost structures and pricing opportunities to management.Customer & Vendor Interaction:Provide pricing assistance to customers and vendors, including explanation of pricing details.Respond to customer queries related to pricing and adjustments.Compliance & Documentation:Ensure all pricing and quotations comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Maintain accurate records of all pricing quotes and agreements.
